Hey fellow travelers,
It’s been a minute! I haven’t popped up in your inbox since January, and honestly, it feels great to be back on the Cosmic Tales deck. I’ve missed all of you. Thanks for hanging in there with me.
While I’ve been quiet here, my brain has been light-years away. I am officially deep in the trenches of writing Cosmic Chasm, the first book in my new Rift Riders series that I introduced you to last year.
Imagine twenty-fifth-century Earth where humans have colonized the solar system, but intergalactic travel is completely out of reach until a massive new discovery turns the scientific world on its head. But on the very first test flight out of the system, the mechanism for rift creation gets sabotaged, and the crew becomes stranded in a completely unknown galaxy with no hope of returning to Earth.
The first book won’t be released until early next spring, but I’ll be giving behind-the-scenes peeks into worldbuilding, characters, and early drafts in my weekly newsletters.
But today, we need to talk about some serious eye candy. My publisher has been busy working a little magic on my post-apocalyptic sci-fi books, the Shattered Sunlight Series. They just gave the entire series a total makeover with brand-new covers!
I loved the original covers, but I’m super happy with the new, updated look! Seeing the new covers gets me excited to dive back into Riley’s world, because yes, I’m planning to write more books for Shattered Sunlight in the future!
Between newsletters, I’ll be popping up in Notes and, eventually, in Chats throughout the week with quick transmissions and questions for you. Think of Fridays as mission control and the rest of the week as chatter on the comm channel.
It’s good to be back in your inbox. Tell me in the comments: what have you been reading while I was off wrestling a space opera into submission?
Until next time, keep looking to the stars and happy reading!
