Exploring New Universes: Updates from the Writing Desk

I can’t believe we’re already almost a week into the new year. How can that even be possible?🤷🏻‍♀️Hope this finds you ready to explore the vast reaches of imagination as we move into 2025! Since I got back to work this past week, it’s been an exciting whirlwind in my little corner of the universe, and I’m looking forward to giving you a peek into what’s happening behind the scenes.

First off, I’m aware there’s been a deafening silence in our clubhouse lately, and I’ve neglected you. Aside from some unexpected travel and the holidays, I’ve been toiling away at finishing a massive revision as my alter ego, Eleanor Chance. With that manuscript in the hands of my editor, it’s time to look forward to what’s coming next.

Spin-Off Novellas for the Shattered Sunlight Series

By way of an update on this side of the house, I’ve been diving back into the world of the Shattered Sunlight series. Many of you have been asking for more stories, and I’m happy to oblige! These spin-off novellas will spotlight some familiar characters and introduce a few new ones, all while expanding on the shattered world you’ve come to know. I’m aiming for stories that are bite-sized but packed with the same depth and excitement you’ve come to love. Any guesses on which characters might get their own tales? Let me know your thoughts!

Rift Riders: Beginning the Cosmic Chasm Series

Meanwhile, I’m charting the course for the Cosmic Chasm series. The first book, Rift Riders, is shaping up to be a thrilling ride through interstellar chaos, sabotage, and unexpected alliances. Follow Remy Ashmore, a rookie flight navigator on mission to test a secret and revolutionary new mode of interstellar travel, as she must take command of the decimated and terrified crew when the voyage spins tragically out of control, and their ship is instantly propelled off course. She must find a way to communicate with earth to learn how to return home before they all perish in deep space. Imagine Stargate, Lost in Space, and The Expanse rolled into one.

Making plans to write this series has been an adventure in itself, and I can’t wait to share it with you. Look for Rift Riders before the end of the year! If you loved the high-stakes action of Shattered Sunlight, you’ll feel right at home here.
